Apr 29: Pont du Diable

The Pont is one of the oldest medieval bridges in Europe and was built to ease the Santiago de Compostela pilgrims' journey down the canyon which contains the 3 sites we visited today. There is now a lovely beach below the bridge and a visitors center which provided a nice site for a sandwich break.

This first photo shows a nice contrast between the medieval bridge and the more contemporary bridge (supporting the road down the canyon) behind it.

  1. Thanks for posting these great pictures, details, and updates, Zail! It's wonderful to live vicariously through your adventures. I'm a bit late in joining and look forward to getting caught up on your posts over the next few days. Much love (and early Happy Birthday wishes!), Dianna
